Director

Our client is a trading and investment group. They seek a Director to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

Coordinate operational accounting reviews of subsidiaries and affiliates, including first-100-day onboarding assessments and evaluation of legacy practices against corporate financial reporting expectations

Facilitate financial due diligence, post-merger integration, purchase price allocation, valuation analysis, opening balance sheet preparation, and working capital reviews in partnership with divisional leadership

Contribute to the execution and continuous enhancement of the M&A playbook alongside senior accounting leadership

Develop and formalize accounting, credit, closing, and financial reporting policy manuals for newly acquired entities, including technical research on new or revised accounting standards

Advise subsidiary CFOs and Controllers on financial reporting, governance frameworks, and operational accounting improvements

Drive special initiatives such as on-site accounting integrations, governance alignment for new acquisitions, organizational enhancements within finance teams, and audit-related projects

Assist with the annual external audit process and preparation of consolidated audited financial statements

Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Legal, Tax, Treasury, HR, and IT to support acquisition onboarding and integration governance

Support trading divisions and subsidiaries with strategic finance projects, including integration planning and operational transitions

Contribute to targeted assignments and interim finance support initiatives across subsidiary or affiliate entities as needed

Requirements

15+ years of relevant experience

Wholesale, import/export, or distribution industry

IFRS experience is a plus

Combo experience preferred

Excellent communication skills

Detail-oriented and highly analytical
