Seasonal Position – Howl‑O‑Scream Scare Actors (Performer II)

We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard‑working individuals to become Ambassadors on the Howl‑O‑Scream Scare Team at SeaWorld San Diego.
Spine‑Chilling Roles We Need Filled

Haunted House Performers – Stationary and active roles available.
Pathway Scare Performers – Roaming and interactive positions on guest pathways.
M.C./Event Host/Vignette Performers – Scripted, high‑energy characters for stage or street events.
Specialty Performers – Including contortionists, sliders, and stilt walkers.
DJs – Live mixing experience preferred.
Auditions

Live & in‑person auditions held at Hubbs Research Institute, 2595 Ingraham St, San Diego, CA 92109.
June 13th – Saturday, Regular and Specialty Role Auditions, 12:00pm – 3pm.
June 18th – Thursday, Regular and Specialty Role Auditions, 6pm – 8pm.
June 25th – Thursday, Regular and Specialty Role Auditions, 6pm – 8pm.
June 27th – Saturday, Regular and Specialty Role Auditions, 1pm – 3pm.
For specialty role auditions (MC/Host, Vignettes, Stilt Walker, Slider, Contortionist, DJ), bring:

What it Takes to Join the Squad

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Bring a fun, animated, and outgoing personality.
Previous guest experience in a high‑volume capacity preferred.
Ability to accept performance feedback and adapt accordingly.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
Ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedule, including opening/closing shifts and after‑hour rehearsals.
Consistently and expertly executes stage direction and show content as directed by Event and Show Producers and Entertainment Leadership.
Previous experience in Theme Park Entertainment, Dance, Theatre, or related field preferred.
Ability to work in an environment with atmospheric effects (strobes, fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubbles, snow, scents, etc.).
Must positively interact with park guests and team members of all ages, ethnic/cultural backgrounds, and individuals with special needs.
Strong verbal communication skills required.
Must be able to stand, sit, walk, kneel, crawl, and jump for prolonged periods during shifts.
Comfortable with performing in multi‑layered clothing, face masks, wigs, and theatrical costuming.
Ability to perform vocalizations such as screams, gasps, wails, and vocal manipulation.
Must be flexible regarding work location and placement based on business needs.
Availability

Must have flexible availability every week Thursday through Sunday during the scheduled dates of the event.
Howl‑O‑Scream 2026 runs Friday, September 11th – Sunday, November 1st.
Compensation

19.00 USD per hour.
