Responsibilities

Interpret and apply Oregon campaign finance laws, administrative rules, policies, and procedures for internal and external partners and the public.
Teach filers how to submit filings on ORESTAR (Oregon Elections System for Tracking And Reporting).
Explain election laws and rules to the public and to filers.
Review filings for legal sufficiency.
Conduct investigations into possible election law violations.
Make recommendations about the outcome of investigations.
Issue civil penalties for non‑compliance.
Answer public questions about registering to vote and voting.
Qualifications

Four years of experience in administrative research, compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or determine compliance with program guidelines and regulations; at least two of those years at or above the technical support level.
College‑level coursework substituting for experience on the basis of 45 quarter‑units per year, up to a maximum of three years, with transcripts demonstrating completed coursework.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport easily with others.
Organizational skills; ability to plan work and follow up on task assignments while meeting overlapping deadlines in a fast‑paced, politically sensitive environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a wide and diverse audience.
Proven ability to promote a team‑oriented environment through proactive engagement with election issues, procedures, and program functions.
Demonstrated understanding of supporting teams in a hybrid work environment.
Preference for candidates with campaign finance and/or elections administration experience.
