Overview
The AR/VR Systems Engineer will lead the development of an advanced Augmented Reality (AR) situational‑awareness system for automotive applications. This role merges expertise across 3D rendering, computer vision, AR device geometry, and cloud‑based AR content delivery, supporting all tasks outlined in the SODW—including 3D representation evaluation, depth estimation, precise AR rendering, and connected AR experiences.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of an AR situational‑awareness system for automotive applications and integrate expertise across 3D rendering, computer vision, AR device geometry, and cloud‑based AR content delivery. Support all tasks outlined in the SODW—including 3D representation evaluation, depth estimation, precise AR rendering, and connected AR experiences.
Required Technical Skills
Strong background in 3D graphics: OpenGL, Vulkan, Unity, Unreal, CUDA, compute shaders.
Deep understanding of 3D data structures: Point Cloud, Mesh, NeRF, 3D Gaussian Splatting.
Experience with AR SDKs (ARCore, ARKit, OpenXR) and AR device calibration.
Familiarity with automotive sensors, GPS, IMU, and HD maps.
AR HUD or head mounted display systems

PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Graphics, AR/VR Technologies

The expected salary range for this position is between $50,000 to $90,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
