Position Overview
The Professional Writing Consultant will provide writing assistance to graduate and undergraduate students. The primary responsibility will be to assist graduate students and undergraduate students who are producing complex research projects and preparing for standardized tests such as the Praxis Core Writing exam.
Work Hours: Flexible. Candidate may work between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday, and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Hourly Pay: $20‑25 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide writing assistance to graduate and undergraduate students.
- Assist students with complex research projects.
- Help students prepare for standardized tests such as the Praxis Core Writing exam.
Qualifications
- Minimum: M.A. in Writing Studies, Composition Studies, English, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Preferred: At least two years of experience working as a writing tutor in a university writing center and/or at least one year of experience teaching first‑year composition at a university.
