Submarine Acoustic Analyst

Program Overview

Scientific, engineering, and acoustic data analysis in support of the U.S. Navy's Signatures Directorate. Operations include assisting with submarine sonar sensor testing, designing acoustic measurement systems, developing signature materials, and performing research and development for the fleet.
About The Role

Peraton is hiring a Submarine Acoustic Analyst. This is a full‑time position on‑site in West Bethesda, MD. Peraton directly supports the USN submarine fleet and is looking for a Submarine Acoustic Data Analyst to process and analyze submarine sensor data. This is an excellent opportunity for a Sonar Technician Submarines (STS) to apply his Navy experience and continue supporting the deploying submarine fleet.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will process, analyze, and report on USN submarine acoustic sensor data to establish sensor health.
Perform numerical analysis of new sensor data for research purposes.
This will require working with USN, government, and Peraton engineers to diagnose sensor and data issues in recorded acoustic data.
Qualifications

Education: 5 years experience with a BS/BA Degree, 3 years with a MS/MA or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
Clearance: DoD Secret Clearance
Experience performing platform noise analysis
Experience with BQQ-10 sonar
Experience with BQH-9 recorder, Alpha/Bravo trials, and Sonar Calibration trials a plus
Must have working knowledge of MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Verbal and written communications skills for working in a team environment a must.

Background as a SSN sonar technician
Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
