This role is embedded within the product lifecycle and involves close collaboration with hardware, software, and production teams. The primary focus is on collecting, validating, and structuring technical details, including hands‑on interaction with hardware and system‑level understanding—to serve as the foundation for installation, service, and troubleshooting documentation.

This position is based at our facility in Woodinville, WA and reports to the Senior Technical Communications Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Work hands‑on with hardware, tools, and assemblies on the production floor and in lab environments to understand installation, mounting, and service procedures

Assemble FRUs (Field‑Replaceable Units) and accessories to accurately capture real‑world workflows, precautions, and safety considerations in documentation

Collect, validate, and organize technical input from engineering, software, and production teams

Develop a strong understanding of system behavior, including software interactions, logs, and error messages that impact field operations

Translate technical details, system logs, and error conditions into structured drafts for installation instructions, FRU procedures, and troubleshooting guides

Provide clear technical input and troubleshooting content to support NOC, support teams, and customer‑facing teams

Collaborate with software teams to interpret system workflows and convert them into actionable troubleshooting guidance

Support product requirements development by ensuring documentation inputs are captured early and accurately

Prepare structured drafts for review and finalization by the Senior Technical Communications Manager

Ensure all outputs align with internal standards, guidelines, and approval processes

Skills and Experience

Experience in technical writing within an engineering‑driven environment (hardware/software systems, telecommunications, aerospace, or similar)

Ability to work hands‑on with hardware while understanding system‑level and software‑driven functionality

Strong ability to interpret logs, telemetry, and system outputs and translate them into practical troubleshooting documentation

Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, software, and operations (e.g., NOC/support)

Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and usability

Experience with structured authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare) and version‑controlled environments preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to capture procedural accuracy and safety considerations

Ability to organize complex technical information and produce clear, structured drafts

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (advanced degree in English or Communications not required)
