Position Summary

The Production Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of engineering deliverables supporting manufacturing. This role ensures timely, accurate, and efficient release of 2D drawings and 3D models while driving continuous improvement in engineering quality, change management, and team development. This leader manages both engineering and drafting functions, aligning priorities across sales, operations, and manufacturing to meet customer delivery commitments and operational KPIs.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop Production Engineers and drafting team; establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations while driving hiring, workforce planning, succession, and employee development.
Engineering Execution & Delivery

Own timely release of high-quality manufacturing packages (2D/3D), ensuring designs meet manufacturability and customer requirements while prioritizing work and removing bottlenecks.
Performance & KPI Management

Track and drive key metrics (OTR, FPY, ECO rate, rework, cycle time, capacity utilization, cost savings) and translate performance insights into actionable improvement plans.
Process Improvement & Change Management

Standardize workflows and enforce robust ECO processes to reduce errors, rework, and late-stage changes; lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and throughput.
Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that reduce waste, improve cycle time, and deliver measurable cost savings through value engineering and root cause analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field teams to align priorities, resolve issues, and ensure on-time delivery; serve as escalation point for complex challenges.
Technical Oversight & Governance

Provide guidance on HVAC design, tools (e.g., SolidWorks), and standards; review complex designs and ensure proper documentation, revision control, and engineering governance.
Qualifications & Requirements

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
10+ years in Production / Manufacturing Engineering
5+ years in leadership or people management role
Strong experience with 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and drawing release processes
Proven ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced engineering environments
Experience with HVAC systems and manufacturing processes
Preferred

Experience managing both engineering and drafting teams
Knowledge of ECO systems, PLM/PDM tools
Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma exposure
Project management experience
