Broadcast Maintenance & Production Engineer Posting Date: 06/08/2026 We are actively seeking a dynamic and diverse team member to join us in the role of Broadcast Maintenance & Production Engineer in Wixom, MI.
The Broadcast Maintenance & Production Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of television and radio broadcast equipment. This role supports live studio and remote productions, transmitter and air-chain systems, and both audio and video production environments. The position works collaboratively with production staff, engineers, clients, and vendors to ensure reliable, high-quality broadcast operations across radio, television, and digital platforms.
Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain studio and remote production equipment for radio and television broadcasts.
Install, configure, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on control consoles, routers, switchers, audio boards, microphones, cameras, lighting systems, video servers, intercom systems, and related broadcast equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot radio and television transmitters, air chains, and associated RF systems.
Act as a technical leader and mentor to IBEW staff by assisting with training, onboarding, and the adoption of new and changing technologies critical to daily broadcast and production operations.
Collaborate regularly with IT, Programming, Station Operations, Production, Digital, and Membership teams to support broadcast, production, and overall organizational needs.
Professional approach with outside vendors involved with air chain processes; i.e. our Joint Master Control, Myers, PBS, etc.
Work in coordination with the IT department to support broadcast-related network infrastructure, including VLANs, switches, servers, storage, and IP-based media systems.
Assess technical needs and develop reliable production solutions.
Diagnose equipment failures and apply corrective measures.
Design, modify, or adapt equipment and systems to meet operational requirements.
Act as liaison with manufacturers and vendors to coordinate warranty repairs and technical support.
Support both radio and television station operations as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to adapt to new technologies
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Technology, Broadcast Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years experience with broadcast production equipment
Experience with audio consoles, video switchers, routers, cameras, and video servers
Transmitter and RF experience preferred
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
Proficiency with Windows and Mac systems
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights
