Description
Markey's, a multi-state leading provider of creative audio-visual services, is seeking a Part-Time as Needed (PRN) Event Technician to add to our growing team in St. Louis. The Event Technician is a client-facing position responsible for setup, operation, maintenance, and strike of a variety of high-end AV equipment for both live & hybrid/virtual client meetings and events. Our shows are typically hosted at various venues in the Greater St. Louis Area. At this time, we are hiring for Part-Time as Needed (PRN) positions that are hourly (non-exempt) and eligible for overtime.
Position Responsibilities
Work closely with clients, Project Managers and other Event Technicians to ensure the successful completion of events.
Set-up, tear-down, loading and unloading of all equipment.
Operate all types of audio, visual, lighting and rigging equipment, for both live and virtual events.
Provide excellent customer service and promptly handle any equipment changes/requests.
Ensure equipment is functional, safely and professionally presented, and that client is familiar or comfortable with the operation of any equipment they are utilizing.
Trouble-shoot any equipment issues with satisfactory resolution.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of tech areas.
Fulfill other duties as assigned to ensure success of Markey’s events.
Necessary Skills
A good working knowledge of all types of Audio Visual equipment- including operation, setup, troubleshooting, and explanation of equipment’s use.
Excellent customer service skills, politely and promptly responding to client needs.
Ability to work in both a collaborative team environment, and independently.
Ability to follow directions from the Project Manager or Crew Lead, and implement such tasks in a timely fashion.
A high level of attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities.
Ability to effectively/professionally interact and communicate with both internal and external clients.
Ability to maintain a positive/professional appearance and attitude at all times.
Ability to handle stressful situations in a positive/professional manner.
Ability to embrace Markey’s culture, demonstrate company values, respect diversity, and follow all company policies and procedures.
Must maintain a good driving record that meets driver insurability requirements, be able to pass a DOT medical certification, and must obtain any special licensing needed to be able to drive a box truck, van, or other company vehicle.
Physical demands include frequent bending, pushing/pulling gear, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
