Contract

Position Type: 2-Year Interim Project / Long-Term Contract (Through Tatum)

About the Role

On behalf of a premier global organization, Tatum is seeking an exceptional Interim Director for a two-year strategic project within their Global Process Excellence team.

Our client has a highly structured GPO team with dedicated specialists already managing automation (RPA/systems) and strict corporate governance. This critical role is entirely focused on the third pillar: pure process streamlining.

We need a finance leader with a strong auditing pedigree who can map, dissect, and fundamentally re-engineer complex workflows. You will use a risk-based mindset to streamline the Global Month-End Close Process , aligning a massive international finance organization around highly efficient, minimum global standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Dissect and re-engineer complex, legacy global Record-to-Report (RTR) workflows across diverse international lines of business to eliminate bottlenecks, redundant tasks, and unnecessary rework.
  • Apply a rigorous auditing lens to evaluate existing workflows, ensuring that stripped-down, streamlined processes remain inherently compliant, highly secure, and audit-ready.
  • Collaborate closely with internal GPO team members focused on automation and governance to ensure your redesigned workflows translate seamlessly into system requirements and policy standards.
  • Partner with third‑party BPO vendors and regional finance hubs to rewrite and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs/DTPs) that capture the newly streamlined processes.
  • Measure and track the operational velocity and time‑savings generated by your process optimization efforts.

Risk Management & Efficiency Balancing

  • Ensure streamlined processes strike the perfect balance between maximum speed and robust risk mitigation for highly accurate financial, corporate, and statutory reporting.
  • Apply a risk‑based approach to workflow design, confidently identifying where the organization is over‑controlled so excess administrative tasks can be safely eliminated.

Change Management & Global Alignment

  • Lead the operational rollout of optimized processes across international regions, acting as the bridge that helps teams transition away from legacy, localized habits.
  • Drive clarity around changing roles and responsibilities as workflows are standardized globally, reinforcing a unified, "one‑team" corporate mindset.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant corporate accounting, auditing, and financial reporting experience.
  • Audit Background: Strong public accounting or audit experience is required.
  • Credentials: Active CPA license is highly preferred.
  • Process Mastery: Proven track record of leading complex financial process streamlining, business process re‑engineering, and workflow optimization within large, multi‑national organizations.
  • Industry: Entertainment, Media, or Consumer Tech industry experience within large‑scale corporate environments is strongly preferred.
  • Systems Familiarity: Strong foundational knowledge of Tier‑1 ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) to ensure designed processes align with modern enterprise tech stacks.
  • Mindset: Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and uniquely able to simplify complex, legacy financial issues.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to influence regional finance leaders and drive process change without direct line authority.

This opportunity pays $75-$95/hour (+50% more for OT) on a W-2 basis. Tatum offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, vision, AD&D and life insurance offerings, short‑term disability and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
