Responsibilities

Lead supplier on-time delivery corrective actions.

Responsible for source transition activity, part qualification.

Execute purchase orders, blanket purchase orders, and other measures to secure long‑term supply and fix pricing.

Identify opportunities for supplier Kan‑Ban, safety stock or VMI and initiate them.

Ensure purchase order records are always accurate and resolve discrepancies expediently.

Manage the execution of complex processing and operations.

Respond urgently to shortages or push-outs, resolving effectively to prevent operational disruption.

Follow all company purchasing policies and procedures.

Receive and evaluate proposals, develop negotiation plans, and complete negotiations with management approval.

Document procurement files to demonstrate competent consideration of all factors for effective and economical procurement.

Lead negotiation on costs, inventory, and standard T/Cs.

Provide price justification and cost analysis.

Influence multiple suppliers.

Source for escalation of daily issues, perform root cause analysis, lead audit initiatives on standard work.

Train other buyers, mentor, and develop standard work.

Conduct compliance activities supporting corporate and business requirements.

Pre‑emptively manage material obsolescence and lifecycle events.

Resolve supplier feedback.

Understand the origin of system messages and troubleshoot as needed.

Facilitate change management, coordinating engineering, manufacturing, and quality control requirements with suppliers.

Lead continuous improvement events.

Maintain supply base management, influence supplier supply chain, and mitigate risk.

Develop and maintain competitive sources for materials, supplies, and services; coordinate source selection decisions.

Keep aware of market conditions such as business cycles, scarcity, and surplus.

Create solutions to shortages, cost, or push-outs through collaboration, alternatives, and innovation.

Use scorecard rating and SCARs for supplier performance evaluation.

Identify new sources and perform basic capability assessment.

Develop and maintain good supplier relations by adhering to high standards of business ethics and fair dealing.

Qualifications – External

3+ years of purchasing experience in an aerospace environment or equivalent experience.

At least 3 years working in an MRP environment. Working knowledge of Kanban is a plus.

Good negotiating skills.

Education And Experience

Bachelor of Science in Business or related field or 5+ years related experience in lieu of a degree.

CPM and/or APICS certification desirable.

Compensation
Salary range: 73,100.00 – 135,700.00 (local currency). Eligible for bonus as part of total compensation.
