About the Role

As Director of Construction, you will join our Architecture + Engineering + Construction (AEC) business, leading regional construction engagements for clients in the Food, Beverage, Life Science, Home and Personal Care markets. Your role is pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction, budget adherence, timing precision, quality standards, and safety norms.
Responsibilities

Lead projects from initial client meetings to final closeouts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational goals.
Conduct risk assessment, negotiate contracts, and make critical fee and pricing decisions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for market leaders, representing the firm’s excellence in project performance.
Develop and refine proposals that clearly define scope of work to meet client objectives.
Maintain oversight of budget and financial aspects, ensuring fiscal responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
Champion construction and design-build initiatives, including estimating and proposal crafting.
Create and guard scope and schedule sequences, ensuring estimates and design meet client expectations.
Communicate project goals and requirements effectively, leading the team to success and fostering unity and collaboration.
Mentor, develop, and train team members, guiding them toward personal and professional milestones.
Lead construction expertise across the entire spectrum of activities, from initial estimates to contractor bidding for industrial facilities and advanced technology manufacturing sites.
Ensure all projects comply with company standards, industry norms, and regulatory requirements.
Implement and enforce comprehensive safety programs and monitor jobsite safety.
Qualifications & Experience

15+ years in diverse construction roles with 8+ years in construction management and leading teams.
Proven track record managing industrial projects valued between $50K and $50M.
Expertise in Construction and A&E design-build projects, with experience in industrial structures such as cold storage, food & beverage processing, packaging, life science, data centers, clean rooms, MEP projects, and advanced manufacturing.
Familiarity with process systems and proficiency reading P&IDs.
OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification; construction project management certification preferred.
Strong technical skills: Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Timberline, AutoCAD, or Revit.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field preferred.
Contractor qualifier license(s) or willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states.
Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills.
Safety-focused mindset and experience implementing safety programs.
Technologically savvy and quick to adopt project management software and scheduling programs.
