Channel Specialist (North Carolina-based, Relocation Support Provided)
Role
As the Channel Specialist, you will own the creative packaging and concept strategy that determines whether a video gets clicked and watched to the end. This is a high-leverage creative strategy role sitting at the intersection of data, AI-driven ideation, and YouTube intuition. You'll shape how ideas are developed, how titles and thumbnails are crafted, and how concepts translate from spark to scalable format. You'll be the channel's primary authority on what makes content win on YouTube and you'll build the systems and frameworks that make that repeatable.
This role is for someone who obsesses over performance, not just creativity. You think in formats, not just videos. You move fast, pressure-test everything, and use data to sharpen instincts rather than replace them. If you can turn a promising idea into a breakout format, and then systematize it so it happens again, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Own title and thumbnail strategy end-to-end, continuously evolving packaging to maximize CTR and drive top-quartile click-through performance.
Lead concept development from insight to scalable format, translating competitive research, retention data, and audience behavior into high-performing video ideas.
Apply advanced AI-driven ideation workflows to generate, refine, and pressure-test concepts. Never blue-sky without prompting first.
Analyze retention curves, CTR, and performance data to drive creative iteration loops and inform ongoing direction.
Conduct deep competitive analysis to identify whitespace and emerging opportunities in the space.
Influence the Creative Director and Channel Manager on concept viability, creative optimization, and production feasibility.
Serve as the creative authority on set, ensuring execution fidelity to concept and packaging intent throughout production.
Build and maintain prompt libraries, creative frameworks, and repeatable systems that raise the hit rate across the channel.
Mentor peers and actively contribute to raising the overall creative bar across the team.
What You'll Bring
4–7+ years of experience in YouTube content strategy, packaging, or production, with a proven track record of consistently delivering high-performing titles and thumbnails at scale.
Deep understanding of YouTube algorithms, retention mechanics, and audience behavior. You can diagnose why a video underperforms and prescribe the fix.
Advanced proficiency in AI-driven ideation and prompt engineering workflows; you know how to use these tools to accelerate and pressure-test creative, not just generate it.
Demonstrated ability to translate data insights into actionable creative direction and measurable outcomes.
Strong systems thinker and you build frameworks, not just videos, and you codify what works so it can be scaled.
A clear, specific communication style and your creative direction moves teams forward.
Experience working directly with virality or channel growth functions.
Experience building and sharing scalable creative systems across teams or channels.
