Description
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. We operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include sensor and weapon integration, algorithm development, user interface development, automated testing, cyber security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.
The Work
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for helping ensure engineering technical, cost and schedule performance for assigned product teams are properly managed.
Responsibilities
Interface with Control Account Manager (CAMs) and EVM staff to derive cost and schedule performance
Manage dependencies between other product teams and support external dependencies
Manage and report technical issues
Support proposal development
Ensure product team technical commitments are clearly understood and carried out
Maintain backlog of assigned features to meet technical commitments
Ensure teams are following organization processes
Produce Estimated Time to Complete/Earned Value Management (ETC/EVM) and other engineering metrics to identify and address all technical or staffing issues while managing cost/schedule
Location and Work Availability
Work will be performed in a closed area and this position is a 100% in‑office role.
Basic Qualifications
A final secret clearance is required
Experience leading teams
Demonstrated strong communications skills
Strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition and allocation of requirements, and interface definition with system‑modeling tools
Demonstrated knowledge of SysML to describe behaviors of a complex DoD system
Experience with use of MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS and demonstrated knowledge in any of the MDA domain areas
Must also be willing to assume a technical leadership role
Desired Skills
Experience with C2BMC and/or the Missile Defense System
Project management experience
Agile process certification
Experience with Agile Development Processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Agility, Confluence)
Experience managing and delivering complex DoD systems

The annual base salary range for this position is $128,400 - $226,435 (varies by location). Salary consideration is based on scope and responsibilities, experience, education, and market standards.
