Freelance Media Coordinator - NBC Sports

This position is responsible for the organization, tracking, and management of digital content for use by our various Production units within NBC Sports. The role serves as a first line of support for Production that runs 24/7, both at our NBC Sports Facility (Stamford, CT) and at broadcast remote locations. The individual will be part of a team that involves all aspects of Production workflows (creation, documentation, support) and ensuring timely delivery. The role works alongside the Broadcast & Post Engineering group, triaging day‑to‑day issues and escalating as needed.

Responsibilities

Ingesting camera ENG with appropriate LUTs

Ensuring production assets are archived for easy restoration

Managing daily ingest of hundreds of recorded events (pressers, shows, sporting events) and cataloguing appropriately; deleting when necessary

Monitoring & managing storage levels of multiple workgroups and workspaces (AVID NEXIS & EVS ISILON)

Providing tier 1 technical support to Production, prioritizing asset restore requests promptly and escalating to Engineering when required

Assisting Production in distribution and retrieval of content using digital deliveries (Media Shuttle, Dropbox, etc.)

Training Production on file‑based workflows to meet deliverables

Assisting with file‑based content delivery for on‑air (NBC, Peacock) and other playbacks and control rooms – on‑site and remote

Collaborating with Post Engineering to achieve goals and meet deadlines

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in TV Production or a related field, or equivalent experience

1+ year of experience in post‑production or relevant experience

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to address immediate issues and meet day‑of‑air deadlines

Desired Characteristics

Highly preferred knowledge of Avid products (Interplay, Access, Media Composer) or similar editing products (DaVinci or Adobe)

Asset Management system knowledge is a plus

Cursory knowledge of video codecs

Experience within a broadcast environment

Excellent communication and client skills

Attention to detail and responsiveness

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

Technologically proficient

Self‑motivated, capable of working independently and alongside a team as required

Able to handle and prioritize a high volume of production requests in a timely manner

Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Must be 18 years or older

This position is required to be performed full‑time from an NBCUniversal‑designated worksite.
