Creative Technologist Intern

Summary

The Creative Technologist Intern will join CHANEL’s Open Innovation team in New York to rapidly prototype and demo concepts using emerging technologies. You will translate research and briefs into tangible prototypes, interactive experiences, and visual assets to accelerate experimentation and communicate ideas across teams.
Responsibilities

Build quick, functional prototypes and MVP-level tools across web, mobile, physical‑digital, and data‑driven formats
Create interactive demos and proof‑of‑concept experiences to showcase innovation concepts
Explore and experiment with emerging technologies such as generative models, agentic systems, and spatial computing
Support trend and signal research by evaluating technical feasibility and identifying build opportunities
Serve as a technical resource for cross‑functional projects and collaborate with external partners and studios
Evaluate and test tools, platforms, and AI‑assisted workflows to enhance prototyping speed and quality
Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Creative Technology, Interaction Design, Computer Science, Digital Arts, UX/UI, or related field
Portfolio or examples of prototypes, creative projects, or technical experiments required
Proficiency in one or more: generative models (GANs, diffusion, LLMs), creative coding (Processing, p5.js, TouchDesigner), prototyping tools (Figma, Framer), physical computing (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), or spatial computing (AR/VR/MR)
Experience with AI coding assistants and Gen AI tooling; working knowledge of Python
Strong visual design sensibility, self‑directed and resourceful, comfortable with ambiguity
Collaborative mindset and English fluency required
