Apparel Designer( Women’s RTW )

We are seeking a contract RTW Apparel Designer for a hands‑on design role supporting the creation and development of women’s apparel. This person will bring strong design instincts, a sharp eye for detail, and a deep understanding of garment construction. The focus of the role is on the design side, translating inspiration and creative direction into clear, accurate flats and technical construction pages that support development, sampling, and production.

The ideal candidate has a strong Ready‑to‑Wear background and is comfortable working across multiple product categories. This person should be able to move quickly, work independently, and partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the design vision is clearly executed.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed, production‑ready flat sketches from concept, reference, and design direction

Develop construction pages that clearly communicate stitch details, finishes, fit intent, and trim or hardware placement

Support the design team in translating seasonal ideas into executable product

Ensure design intent is maintained throughout development, sampling, and production

Partner with design and development teams to troubleshoot construction and design execution issues

Apply strong garment construction knowledge across RTW categories including knits, wovens, tailoring, and outerwear

Contribute a strong aesthetic point of view while balancing creativity with technical feasibility

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in RTW apparel design or technical design

Strong Ready‑to‑Wear design background with a clear understanding of silhouette, proportion, and construction

Exceptional flat sketching skills with advanced Adobe Illustrator proficiency

Strong knowledge of garment construction across multiple categories

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal direction

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Experience with sweater design and fully fashioned knitwear is a plus
