Role Overview
The Relationship Manager is responsible for the general administration of trust accounts, including estates, personal trusts, foundations, endowments, and guardianships, and for relationship management of investment management accounts and/or individual retirement accounts.
Responsibilities
Represent the company in direct contact with customers, attorneys, beneficiaries, and other related parties.
Develop external leads through solicitation of clients, attorneys, accountants, and other centers of influence, including community leaders and organizations, to sell investment management and fiduciary administration business.
Apply knowledge of fiduciary products and services (e.g., personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate planning).
Understand California probate code, especially provisions related to trust management.
Periodically review trust accounting software parameters and coding.
Obtain, direct, and update account inventory values, assets, and relationship information.
Initiate or approve payments or receipts to/from client accounts in accordance with governing documents.
Monitor account activity to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including annual Reg 9 reviews.
Meet regularly with clients to understand their financial needs and goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA, CFP, or CTFA preferred.
5–10 years of trust and/or investment management or relationship‑management experience with a strong background working specifically with high‑net‑worth individuals and their advisors.
Knowledge of fiduciary products and services (e.g., personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, security custody, financial consulting, estate planning).
Working knowledge of financial‑planning tools, fiduciary duties, investment products, markets, and portfolio management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external needs.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Self‑motivated and self‑starter.
Strong client‑advisory and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond quickly to emergent problems.
Experience working with high‑net‑worth clients.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Pay Range
$88,900.00–$118,500.00 annually. This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.
