Job Summary: The Dealership GM provides leadership to department managers within the division, ensuring division goals and objectives are met.Duties & Responsibilities: The Dealership GM directs activities of one or more departments, such as service, parts, and ag/ pe sales and strategically administers divisional directives and company policies personally or through department managers.Specifically:Participate in daily, weekly, monthly or annual planningprocess as appropriate; working with departmentmanagement and Controller in setting operational salesgoals and operating budget to minimize expenses andmaximize profits for dealership.Communicate and administer company policies andprocedures, developing and directing divisional departmentactivities to develop and implement long-range goals andobjectives to meet business and profitability growthobjectives.Facilitate development of strategic plans and initiatives toaccomplish dealership goals; striving to keep teammembers motivated, included and dedicated; be highlyvisible to team members and create a safe environment forparticipation.Authorize coordinated recruiting and training; developing ahighly motivated and effective dealership service centerteam; organize management structure and respective teamsfor optimal, efficient operations.Ensure a healthy and safe working environment.Align with other departments such as accounting, humanresources, marketing, and IT to ensure successful dealershipdivision operations.Maintain a favorable working relationship with all otherMcFarlane employees to foster and promote a cooperativeworking culture conducive to maximum employee morale,productivity, efficiency/ effectiveness and profitability.Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectivelyand efficiently manage direct management reports; providesguidance, leadership and coaching to division departmentmanagers.• Coordinates performance appraisals, promotions andterminations.• Confirm salary adjustments, transfers, promotions andseparations.• Ensures proper training of personnel assigned;develops individuals for future advancement.Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely andeffective manner in accordance with established companypolicies to achieve the overall objectives of this leadershipposition.Manage a diverse cross-functional team; foster a mutuallysupportive and respectful atmosphere through effectivecommunication, positive motivation, and trust.Collaborate effectively with Officers and seniormanagement to drive solutions to business matters; identifyareas for improvement.Other duties as assigned.Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.Education & Experience and Skills & Qualifications:• High School Diploma or Equivalent; bachelor's degreepreferred.• Minimum 5 years in dealership management or similarrole with proven financial responsibility.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Analytical, with excellent problem-solving skills.• Solid leadership and managerial skills with ability tofoster a collaborative team; act as a member of theexecutive team; participate in leadership meetings.• Ability to make timely, high-quality decisions acrossSales, Service, and Parts; balances customer experience,gross profit, market competitiveness, and operationalcapacity.• Ability to interpret OEM communications/program guidesand translate requirements into dealership processes, plans,and performance goals; ability to help set priorities.• Understanding of sales, expenses, and margins,marketing, trends, business and management.• Demonstrated customer/client focus; ability to buildrelationships, understand customer needs, and ensureconsistent, high-quality service and issue resolution.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
