Job Overview

Position: UI/UX Designer & Developer in the Engineering Applications Department (EAD). Location: Chantilly, VA. This is a full‑time, 100% onsite position.
Responsibilities

Build responsive, accessible, high‑performance front‑end interfaces with exceptional attention to detail.
Develop and implement intuitive user experiences for advanced visualization products to enhance data analysis and decision‑making processes.
Partner with developers, engineers, scientists, and stakeholders to align vision and deliver cohesive solutions.
Foster innovation by staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications

Member of Technical Staff – System Software Engineering: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or related STEM discipline. Minimum 2 years of frontend development experience.
Proficiency in TypeScript and modern web frontend frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.
Demonstrated ability in user research, usability testing, rapid prototyping, and accessibility.
Proven ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Senior Member of Technical Staff – System Software Engineering: Minimum 4+ years of frontend development experience, experience architecting visualization software solutions, leading team discussions, Agile team leadership, and familiarity with Atlassian tools.
How You Can Stand Out

Master’s or Ph.D. in HCI, Computer Science, Design, or Human Factors.
Experience with rapid prototyping tools/methodologies.
Proficiency with Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, or equivalent modeling tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective relationships with all levels of customers and staff.
Experience building and maintaining large-scale design systems.
Previous experience working with aerospace or defense industry clients.
Current DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
