Events & Hospitality Sales Manager Location: New Orleans, LA | Type: Part‑time
Compensation: $20/hr base plus commission on events and buyouts booked. This sales‑forward role offers real earning upside for candidates who actively generate and close business.
We are a locally owned boutique property that values personality, culture, and memorable events.
Responsibilities Generate and respond to events and wedding inquiries for the hotel.
Plan events (charity events, weddings, private parties, pop‑ups, happy hours).
Run various social media platforms and build a local and online following.
Coordinate with vendors (bands, food, event needs).
Create organized event plans, including timelines, layouts, vendor communication, and day‑of details.
Oversee event set‑up and breakdown to ensure execution matches expectations.
Provide day‑of coordination and offer in‑house coordination when clients need support.
Guide clients from initial inquiry through contract and execution.
Manage proposals, contracts, minimums, and pricing with clarity and confidence.
Work closely with caterers, chefs, bartenders, and vendors to align service with what was sold.
Qualifications 3‑5 years of experience in events, hospitality, hotels, restaurants, catering, or private dining—or 20+ events personally handled or sold.
Proven experience selling events and functions, not just supporting sales.
Comfortable discussing pricing, minimums, contracts, and upsells.
Experience in a commission‑based sales environment where performance drives earnings.
Warm, confident communicator—written and verbal.
Experience with food & beverage operations is a big plus.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and peak season when events require it.
Outgoing, personable, adaptable, and passionate about hospitality and the culture of New Orleans.
