About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Art Director to join our Creative team and elevate our visual storytelling across all touch points. Reporting to our Creative Director, you’ll lead concept development and high-level creative initiatives, enabling our Creative Director to focus on strategic brand evolution while you drive the execution of compelling campaigns.
The ideal candidate thrives in a startup environment, brings agency-level or in-house creative excellence, and can seamlessly collaborate across Brand, Growth, Marketing Operations, Retail, and Product teams to bring our clean beauty vision to life.
What You’ll Do
Lead new concept development from ideation through execution across product launches, evergreen campaigns, and ongoing channel needs
Assist in pre-production planning for shoots, including creative briefs, shot lists, moodboards, and styling direction
Manage on-set art direction with Creative Director to ensure brand consistency and creative excellence
Collaborate with Creative Director on larger campaign development and brand design evolution
Own design projects from concept through final delivery, serving as the key creative decision-maker throughout
Support cross-functional teams in translating brand strategy into compelling visual designs
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high creative standards and meeting deadlines
Manage and oversee team of freelance designers, providing creative feedback and overseeing workload distribution
What You’ll Bring
5–7 years of experience in creative roles with increasing responsibility
Agency experience welcomed; startup experience strongly preferred
Expert proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Strong conceptual thinking and ability to translate brand strategy into visual executions
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
Portfolio demonstrating versatility across digital and traditional media
Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently and take creative ownership
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup and creative environment
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Ability to work from our Montclair, NJ office as required (3 days per week)

Compensation
The compensation range for this role is $115,000 – $145,000 . This role may also be eligible for a merit-based bonus.
