Social Media Manager — IceNova

We make fried chicken ice cream and fruit-shaped desserts that crack open like the real thing. Every product is built to stop a scroll and start a conversation — and they do, constantly, without us paying for it.
We're in 5,000+ stores across the US. We're growing fast. We have zero marketing infrastructure. No brand police. No approval chain that kills ideas before they breathe. You'd be our first social hire.
THE JOB
Build IceNova's social presence from scratch. Shoot, edit, post. Own the voice. Set the cadence. Figure out what works and do more of it.
- We're not looking for a "content strategist" who spends more time in Notion than in CapCut. We're looking for someone who knows why a video hooks in the first 1.5 seconds, can spot a dying trend from a fresh one, and understands that the goal isn't views — it's making someone walk into a grocery store and scan the freezer aisle.
- Viral here means: See it → Crave it → Find it → Film yourself eating it → Tag us.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
- Make content. Ideate, shoot, edit, post. TikTok and Reels mainly. You should be comfortable on both sides of the camera.
- Own the calendar. What goes out when. Adjust based on what the data says, not what you planned last month.
- Watch the internet. Know what's working before brands catch on. Jump on formats that still have life.
- Talk to people. Reply to comments. Find the superfans. Make them feel like they discovered us first.
- Work with creators. Brief influencers, manage gifting, track what performs. You'll have a budget.
WHO YOU ARE
- Experience-wise, we don't care. Two years or ten — show us content that performed and explain why it worked.
- You understand short-form video at a craft level. Pacing, tension, payoff. You know what a hook is and why most of them fail.
- You're fluent in TikTok and Instagram — not just as a user, but as someone who thinks about the algorithm as a system you can work with.
- You can write. Captions, hooks, replies. Voice matters.
- You read analytics without letting them paralyze you. Data informs instinct; it doesn't replace it.
- You're okay with a distributed team. Some calls with Nanjing. Some late-night posting because that's what the algorithm likes.
- Bonus if you've built an account from zero, understand CPG/food retail, or speak Mandarin (not required — our product team is in Nanjing).
WHY THIS ROLE
- Fried chicken ice cream is an easier sell than SaaS. The product already does half the work.
