Position Description:

The Product Specialist will oversee and direct Product Management activities for the Specialty Ball and Plug Valve product portfolios. The role involves ownership of the respective products, driving product strategy and tactical actions, and aligning global product strategy with market needs. The Product Specialist will be customer-facing, linked to financial targets, and will drive product commercialization by enhancing value proposition.

Responsibilities

Implement global product strategies and develop product roadmaps in alignment with the Global Product Manager.
Provide strategic direction and take ownership of cross-functional initiatives.
Create strategic cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, and Engineering.
Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) and customer product meetings.
Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and development programs; support return-on-investment analysis; establish time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
Collaborate with R&D project managers and engineering leaders, ensuring deliverables completion and removing barriers.
Support product commercialization of the portfolio globally.
Drive product globalization activities, including supply chain and manufacturing localization to support the global business.
Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
Forecast, refine and track product financials for the region and align them to the product budget.
Serve as a key information source for marketing, product development, and other decision makers in the organization.
Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and analyses.
Assess product market data by calling on customers with field sales and evaluating sales results; assess competitive landscape using strategic market knowledge tools.
Support product pricing, review production volume and sales costs.
Collaborate with Marketing on defining and creating product literature and documentation, including website content and social media campaigns.
Periodically visit customer sites with Regional Sales to maintain relationships with key contacts and deepen technical understanding of the product and its applications.
Assist in training in the local region and subregions for customers, engineering, repair centers, sales force, and field service; coordinate with the Educational Services Group as required.
Provide tactical sales support as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Product, sales, applications and/or engineering experience in a related field involving highly engineered specialty products in a global market setting.
Strong organizational skills and ability to assemble and manage cross-functional teams.
Good verbal and written presentation and communication skills.
Ability to travel 25-40% as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering and minimum 5 years of experience, ideally in Product Management, Operations, Sales or Project Management.
