Cherub is building the AI-powered relationship infrastructure for private capital, helping founders, investors, creators, and operators connect, raise, and build the future together. We sit at the intersection of startups, media, culture, and investing and are building the social network for the fundraising ecosystem.
We are looking for a Social Media & Email Marketing Manager who is deeply online, culturally aware, and genuinely obsessed with the startup, venture, creator, and fundraising landscape. This is not a passive social media role. We want someone who understands what conversations matter, why they matter, and how to turn them into content that drives attention, engagement, and growth.
You should have strong editorial instincts, know how to package ideas for social, and thrive in a fast‑moving startup environment.
This is a hybrid role based in New York City. Mostly remote, but you'll be expected to be in person for events, shoots, and moments worth capturing as well as helping execute on creator‑led content in person (~2x / week).
What You’ll Do
Own and manage Cherub’s content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels
Create and edit short‑form video content, graphics, carousels, social copy, and founder/investor‑facing content
Build and manage the social content calendar across all channels
Capture and post real‑time content from events, dinners, founder gatherings, and activations
Track analytics and performance metrics across social and email to identify what’s working, what’s not, and adapt quickly
Build, write, edit, and deploy weekly newsletters for founders and funders
Source relevant startup, fundraising, creator economy, and venture content
ews for newsletters and social channels
Drive audience growth across social and newsletter subscribers through creative tactics, partnerships, and editorial strategy
Work closely with our founder to create content featuring her, concept ideas, shoot and edit
Work closely with our Head of Partnerships and Community to ensure partner, sponsor, and client content is executed and promoted effectively
Support reporting and campaign recaps across content and partnerships
Help shape Cherub’s editorial voice and position the company at the center of conversations around startups, investing, creators, and modern capital
You Might Be a Fit If
Are genuinely obsessed with startups, venture capital, fundraising, tech, creators, internet culture, and business media
Spend an unhealthy amount of time on LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Substack, and startup Twitter
Have experience creating high‑performing content across multiple platforms
Can edit video quickly and create clean graphics with strong taste and speed
Understand internet‑native storytelling and how content moves online
Are highly organized and can manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Thrive in startup environments and move quickly without needing constant direction
Have strong writing and editorial instincts
Are excited by the intersection of creators, capital, and community
If you obsessively follow Maggie Sellers, this job is right for you
Bonus Points
Experience working in startups, media, venture, creator economy, or newsletters
Strong understanding of founder/investor culture
Experience with tools like manychat, Canva, CapCut, Mailchimp, Beehiiv, etc.
Comfortable being on‑site at events and creating content in real time
This Probably Isn't The Right Fit If
You're looking for a fully mapped‑out role with clear lanes and a brief for every deliverable. This job is for someone who already has opinions about what Cherub should be making, gets excited about testing something new, and doesn't need to be convinced that showing up in person for the right moment is worth it. If you're not already deep in this space — following the people, watching what's working, forming takes — it'll be hard to do this job well.
