Skilled Craftsmen & Field Personnel (Wharton, TX)
WHC LLC (A Surerus Murphy Company) (WHC), is currently hiring skilled craftsmen and field personnel to support construction activities within our Power Sector on the SunRoper Solar Project located between Wharton & Lane City, Texas. We are seeking individuals across multiple disciplines to support civil, mechanical, and electrical construction scopes associated with large-scale energy infrastructure projects. These roles play an important part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of field construction activities.

These roles will support daily construction operations and work closely with project leadership to ensure safety, quality, and schedule objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
Perform construction activities within civil, mechanical, or electrical scopes supporting power sector projects
Support installation, assembly, and maintenance of project infrastructure
Follow project drawings, specifications, and construction plans
Maintain compliance with WHC safety standards and site safety requirements
Assist with material handling, equipment operation, and general site preparation
Collaborate with supervisors, foremen, and project teams to maintain project schedules
Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project standards
For leadership roles such as General Foreman, responsibilities may also include:
Supervising field crews and coordinating daily work activities
Monitoring productivity and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
Communicating project progress with site leadership and management
Supporting workforce coordination and job site planning
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
Position Requirements
Qualifications
Ability to work in a construction field environment
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Ability to follow directions and work effectively within a crew
Relevant certifications or trade experience may be required depending on the role.
Experience
Prior experience in civil, mechanical, electrical, or construction trades preferred
Experience working on power, renewable, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects is strongly preferred
Skills and Knowledge
Industrial safety knowledge is preferred
Able to lift loads between 15-40 lbs.
Able to work in outdoor conditions up to 10 hours per day
Certified equipment operators are preferred
Familiar with installing Gamechange tracking system
Familiar with installing large solar panels
Working Conditions
These positions are based at our SunRoper Solar project site (Wharton, Tx). Travel to project sites is required. This position is field based and often works within remote project locations. Able to work 6 days on, 1 day off shift with 10‑hour shifts for the duration of the project.
