Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Audio Engineer role based in Anaheim, CA. The Audio Engineer will set up, operate, and strike audio and AV systems for live events and experiences across the OCVIBE campus, including venues, public spaces, and special activations. Responsibilities include selecting and positioning microphones, configuring audio consoles and playback systems, managing sound checks, and ensuring clear, balanced sound for performers, presenters, and guests. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues in real time, collaborating with production, event, and facilities teams, and maintaining audio equipment and system documentation. The Audio Engineer will contribute to sound design elements for events and experiences, support rehearsals, and help ensure a safe, guest-focused environment.
Qualifications
Proficiency with core audio engineering practices, including Audio Engineering and Acoustics, to ensure high-quality sound in a variety of spaces.
Hands‑on experience with microphones, including selection, placement, and management for live performances and presentations.
Knowledge of Sound Design for events and experiences, including integrating music, effects, and ambient audio to enhance the guest environment.
Experience configuring and operating Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including consoles, speakers, DSPs, playback devices, and signal routing.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm and solution‑focused during live events.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, stage plots, and signal flow diagrams.
Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with production, events, and operations teams.
Relevant experience in live events, entertainment venues, hospitality, or themed environments; experience in large campus or multi‑venue settings is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, certifications, or a degree in audio engineering, music technology, or a related field is preferred.
