Job Description:

Cyclones.tv is looking for a creative storyteller and content creator who can capture the emotion, energy, and excellence of Cyclone sports and help shape the visual identity of Iowa State Athletics. This position is ideal for a developing professional who thrives behind the lens, brings bold ideas to life, and elevates our brand across digital, social, broadcast, and in‑venue platforms. This position will initially support men’s and women’s wrestling, women’s basketball, or women’s volleyball, with sport assignments subject to change to fit business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration with Coaches and Support Staff — Consult with sport programs and support staff to identify needs and deliver high‑impact media solutions.

Creative Video Execution — Create engaging video (short form and long form digital content) for assigned sports, from concept to final edit.

Content Creation — Shoot and edit videos/photos for social, digital, broadcast, and in‑venue use.

Recruiting & Fan Features — Produce special projects that highlight student‑athletes, coaches, and program culture.

Graphics & Animation — Work with motion graphics and other digital assets to enhance video content

Student Supervision — Provide guidance to student workers as needed.

Compliance — Uphold all University, Big 12, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Candidates must be have a solid skillset in cinematic storytelling, shooting and editing, as well as having experience in creating long-form and short-form content for social, digital, broadcast and in-venue displays. This role can be physically demanding and involves maneuvering into various positions to capture the best video/photos. This position requires the flexibility to work non‑traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and occasional overnight travel, to support live events.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience planning, shooting, and editing high‑quality video content, especially for sports using professional video equipment, from raw footage to polished final cuts with music and graphics.

Experience supporting video and creative needs of intercollegiate sport teams pre-season, in-season and off-season, in today’s recruiting landscape.

Experience producing engaging video tailored for social/digital platforms, broadcast, and large‑format displays.

Proficient using social media platforms and reporting analytics.
