Summary
The Graphic Designer position is a full‑time role in the Creative Department. It requires superior aesthetic and design experience. The ideal candidate will manage and design for a wide range of projects including logo and identity design, large‑scale environmentals, presentations and layout, web design, print collateral, broadcast creative, and animation. They must excel at analyzing a brand’s design aesthetic, proposing new graphic extensions, and contributing to the future success of Agency EA and our clients. The role will bring strong creativity and strategy to the concept development phase and technical expertise to the production of live projects. This position is local to Chicago, hybrid (3 days in‑office per week) and requires some travel.

Responsibilities

Fulfills lead or support designer role on select live projects and new business RFPs

Highly collaborative designer working closely with other designers, creative directors and producers

Supports graphics project management and production on assigned projects, including budget awareness, vendor communications, print press checks, file asset management, etc.

Communicates tasks and deliverables proficiently with cross‑departmental teams (Client Services, Business Development, Production, and Creative)

Consults with and presents to clients and internal stakeholders as needed, helping to illuminate design thinking and solutions that meet client objectives

Facilitates shares and/or learnings and provides project support as needed to the graphics team

Assists in archiving and maintaining digital files, project hard copies, photography, illustrations, logo art, typestyles, historical collateral samples, etc., of client materials and resources for future reference and use

Monitors and understands the latest design trends, maintaining high skill levels in relevant design software and platforms

Promotes superior file management and organizational methodology following department guidelines

Reports to the VP of Creative

Qualifications

BA or equivalent in a design‑focused major (graphic, fine arts, advertising). The agency welcomes talented individuals with equivalent experience from portfolio school or non‑traditional backgrounds.

3–5 years of experience in graphic design related industry

A portfolio of dynamic and versatile design samples demonstrating applicable project work

High proficiency in:

Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

Apple Keynote & Microsoft PowerPoint

Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets)

After Effects and Premiere (a plus)

Strong conceptual abilities (developing ideas and concepts individually and as part of a team)

Familiarity with designing for the web and other digital mediums

Ability to work on multiple projects at once, designing for a wide range of brands, audiences, and industries

Ability to set up files for print based on vendor specifications and needs

Ability to project‑manage graphic deliverables within assigned projects

Self‑motivated, clear communicator, consensus builder, highly organized, and detail‑oriented

Comfortable working in a demanding, fast‑paced environment under tight deadlines

Strong presentation skills

Strong active listening skills, interpreting information and turning it into actionable next steps

Ability to travel as needed and work occasional nights or weekends

Salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000 based on experience and education.
