Senior Sales Director, Western US Destinations

Position Overview

Sojern is seeking a dynamic, strategic Head of Sales, Western US Destinations to lead our regional sales team, orchestrate go‑to‑market strategies, and accelerate partner growth. This is a critical senior leadership role responsible for mentoring a high‑performing team of sales professionals and aggressively expanding Sojern’s footprint in the programmatic media space.

The ideal candidate is an inspirational leader and a strategic thinker with deep industry relationships and an intimate understanding of the travel marketing landscape, specifically Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), airports, and attractions.

What You Will Do

  • Lead & Empower: Mentor, scale, and inspire a high‑performing sales team to exceed revenue goals, deepen client/agency relationships, and unlock net‑new growth opportunities.
  • Strategic Growth: Define and execute localized go‑to‑market strategies to acquire and develop high‑value, long‑term strategic partnerships.
  • Market Evangelism: Create and deliver persuasive, data‑driven presentations that showcase Sojern’s value proposition at major industry events, panels, and conferences.
  • Financial Accountability: Oversee, assemble, and present accurate financial projections, sales forecasts and quarterly revenue plans to senior leadership.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Commercial Sales, Client Success, Product, and Product Marketing teams to co‑create high‑impact, relevant advertising programs for our clients and their agencies.
  • Talent Development: Lead all aspects of recruiting, hiring, and onboarding top‑tier sales talent, building a robust pipeline for organizational growth.
  • Voice of the Customer: Serve as the regional subject‑matter expert, advocating for client needs and market trends to influence internal product roadmaps and strategic planning.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 10+ years of sales experience within digital advertising, programmatic media, and/or the travel vertical.
  • 5+ years of direct people‑management experience leading media sales teams, ideally within the travel and tourism sectors.
  • Industry Network: A proven track record and an established network of relationships within Western US Destinations, Attractions, and Airports.
  • Business Acumen: Strong commercial planning skills, with a history of accurate goal setting, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Tech Literacy: High proficiency with Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel as needed (approximately 30%) to meet with clients and attend industry events.
