Job Description

This is a full‑time role located in Chicago. The position may require working in Vestcom’s Chicago office and client locations. The Sales Director – Walgreens Team will penetrate CPG Shopper teams and drive a budget shift toward the deployment of Vestcom Media Solutions (VMS) products and services.

  • Lead formulation and execution of sales strategies and plans for the Walgreens sales team.
  • Penetrate and develop high‑level customer relationships with senior leadership across assigned territory.
  • Call on functional groups such as Merchandising, Marketing, Loyalty, etc., at Walgreens to secure support for Vestcom Media Solutions.
  • Call on local CPG Shopper Teams to secure media spend behind VMS products and services.
  • Deliver the Vestcom shelf‑edge value proposition and influence clients through strong knowledge of solutions, products and services.
  • Analyze retailer and CPG measurement criteria to drive top‑line and bottom‑line metrics.
  • Apply creative problem‑solving and excellent listening skills.
  • Carry individual quota in the tens of millions.
  • Manage, hire and develop the VMS shopper sales team.
  • Own prospecting approaches and develop presentations and proposals positioning VMS as a winning shopper media value proposition.
  • Manage sales pipeline and deliver consistent close rates to achieve sales goals.
  • Provide detailed sales forecasting using the existing CRM tool.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Evangelize and execute next‑gen solutions such as digital offerings.
  • Represent VMS at tradeshows and local retailer and marketing events.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Vestcom teams to support the sales process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes‑Oxley Act 2002 Section 404.

Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field required; Master’s degree a plus.
  • At least 10 years of sales experience with Retail/CPG focus in marketing/sales organizations.
  • Experience with leading CPG or a large marketing services solution provider required.
  • Knowledge of Brand, Retail, Shopper Marketing and Media landscape.
  • Record of achieving top‑line revenue and bottom‑line targets.
  • Experience in consultative data‑driven selling.
  • Experience developing and deploying sales and go‑to‑market strategy.
  • Exceptional skills in negotiation, conflict management, account management, account penetration, category management, sales forecasting and leading‑edge sales strategies.
  • Self‑starter with a hunter mentality and team mentorship.
  • Superior analytical, oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values.
  • Compliance with company policies concerning maintaining a drug‑free workplace, safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to supervise as per company policies, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewards, discipline, complaint resolution.
  • Right of management to modify duties as needed.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $123,675 – $184,688 per year. Actual salaries may vary within the range based on relevant skills, experience, education, location, and job scope.
