Grants & Financial Administrator – Immunology & Genomic Medicine

National Jewish Health is seeking a Grants and Financial Administrator to support faculty and research teams by managing institutional, restricted, and grant funding from application to award closeout. This position oversees the full grant submission process, ensures compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements, and provides accurate, timely financial management for research projects, labs, and departmental funds.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee accurate, compliant management of research funding, from budget development to financial reporting.

Coordinate and submit grant applications on time, ensuring all guidelines and requirements are met.

Provide clear financial projections, identify funding gaps, and recommend solutions to investigators and leadership.

Ensure institutional, restricted, and donation funds are accurately tracked and aligned with regulations and policies.

Collaborate effectively with researchers, staff, and external partners to support successful research operations.

Position Summary
Responsible for the administration of faculty institutional, restricted and grant funding. This includes managing the application process for grant submissions, financial management of all research funds and administration of human resource related functions. May also be responsible for the management of division and department funds.

Core Duties

Financial management of externally funded research projects: coordinate application process, ensure timely submission, manage awarded projects within budget and terms.

Develop budgets for grant applications, labs, institutional and restricted projects and collaborations in partnership with faculty and core facilities.

Financial management and compliance of institutional, Academic Enrichment Funds, and restricted donation funds.

Prepare reports of actual and projected financial positions for divisions, cores, projects and investigator portfolios; identify funding gaps and opportunities, and make recommendations.

Assist faculty with human resources responsibilities: new hire requisitions, affiliate placements, performance evaluations, merit increases, promotions, terminations. Edit time in KRONOS.

Complete time and effort reports for faculty and staff and obtain required approvals.

Coordinate capital equipment purchases, maintenance and accounting issues, ensuring appropriate routing and signatures.

Invoice and receive payments from external organizations for core services and restricted funding; track and ensure timely receipt.

Other Duties

May be responsible for data entry of research chargebacks for research core facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Healthcare, Business Administration or Finance preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years financial administration ideally in an academic, research or governmental organization required. Experience with grants and related regulations preferred.

Salary Range
$67,454.40 - $89,208.44
