Overview

Under direct supervision of a Senior Director, Global Marketing – Codman Specialty Surgical, CSS, the Global Product Marketing Manager for Hydrocephalus and Neurocritical Care (NCC) product lines will identify and execute global product strategies, marketing plans, and promotional programs to meet company goals and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of global product marketing plans, including objectives, strategies, tactics, profit and loss projections, and short- and long-term strategies.
  • Manage new product development marketing activities: new idea review, concept and design development, technique development, project management, and market introduction.
  • Recommend product line extensions, line trimming, forecasting, pricing strategies, and development of literature, video, and sales support materials.
  • Determine strategic product line decisions by evaluating competitors, market share, and trends; maintain and distribute competitive comparisons and evaluations.
  • Create product-oriented positioning documents, profiles, competitive analyses, presentations, demos, white papers, product updates, and content for corporate marketing vehicles such as websites, brochures, and seminars.
  • Monitor product development progress with engineering, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and related departments to meet timelines and goals.
  • Maintain frequent contact with strategic industry experts, trade organizations, key surgeons, and sales consultants; participate in key meetings and conferences.
  • Collaborate with regional partners to ensure high-quality sales support for new product introductions, sales training, key surgeon/key account visits, and ongoing communication.
  • Monitor forecasts and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure product availability throughout the lifecycle.
  • Maintain up-to-date product and industry knowledge through literature review, co-travel with field sales personnel, and attending surgeries.
  • Work with Marketing Communications and related departments to ensure products are properly positioned using creative promotional, pricing, service, and product characteristic strategies.
  • Participate in strategic sales and marketing planning activities to identify key targets, surgeons, and hospitals for assigned products.
  • Actively mentor less-experienced group members in marketing-related areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 12+ years of total work experience; master’s degree/MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in marketing and/or commercial functions within medical device or healthcare-related fields.
  • Global medical device/pharmaceutical marketing experience required with direct experience in US and international markets.
  • Medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience preferred.
  • Operating room and Neuro Intensive Care Unit product/technology experience preferred.
  • Strong conceptual problem‑solving skills and ability to structure vaguely defined problems.
  • Proven project management, excellent written and verbal communication, quantitative and qualitative analytic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and coaching ability at employee and management levels.
  • Strategic thinking, planning, marketing, and product development capacity.
  • Average travel requirement approximately 30%.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $125,350.00 – $172,500.00 USD. Base pay is determined by role, level, and location; additional compensation may include bonus, commission, equity, or other variable elements.
