Reporter Position

The Times-Picayune seeks a reporter to cover government and general news in St. Tammany Parish. The northshore of Lake Pontchartrain, once largely a collection of bedroom communities for commuters and transplants from New Orleans and its older suburbs, has become a residential and commercial hub in its own right. But economic expansion has brought growing pains, and raised important questions about land use, quality-of-life issues and funding for public safety and other government services. The successful candidate in this role will marry strong breaking and daily news reporting skills with a hunger for thoughtful enterprise that captures the community in full. Familiarity with St. Tammany is a plus.
