Salary Range: $50,000–$55,000 (DOE)

RDG Global is seeking a creative and trend-focused Assistant Sweater Designer to support the development of modern women’s knitwear collections for major private label retailers and Kay Unger branded sportswear. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside an experienced Senior Designer and gain hands‑on exposure to every stage of the design process—from trend research and concept development to sample execution and production.

What You’ll Do

Assist in the design and development of women’s sweater and knitwear collections
Support seasonal concept development, trend research, and color direction
Create and maintain tech packs for proto samples
Coordinate samples, fittings, tracking, and approvals
Maintain organized yarn, knit, and sample libraries
Research market trends, competitor brands, fabrics, and yarns
Shop retail and report on current trends and opportunities
Communicate daily with overseas factories and internal teams
Help ensure all design calendars and milestones stay on track
Support private label accounts and branded sportswear programs
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or related field
0–1 year of fashion design experience focused on sweaters or knitwear
Strong understanding of sweater construction, stitches, yarns, gauges, and costing
Excellent eye for color, trend, and commercial fashion
Ability to interpret trends for the modern women’s market
Experience with private label apparel preferred
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop required)
Strong Microsoft Office skills
AI and/or 3D design experience is a plus
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and eagerness to learn
Portfolio showcasing knitwear or sweater design work preferred
