The Job

Amika is looking for a Director, Field Sales + Education to lead a best-in-class field team as well as education + event initiatives to support Amika's store growth in the retail channel. You will be responsible for developing and implementing education and event strategies for our North American retail partners: Ulta, Sephora US & Canada, Sephora @ Kohls and new future distribution. You will partner cross functionally (Sales, Social, PD, Trade Marketing) to align all retail facing initiatives and be the day-to-day contact.
Salary: $150,000 + bonus
Location: Must be based in New York or California + have the right to work in the U.S.
What You'll Do

Corporate Planning
Develop the field team strategy to exceed sell-through goals and build brand awareness
Build out Education strategy with retailer-specific needs – by season, launch, and year
Map out Education deliverables with resources needed to support retailer expectations
Identify brand competitors within each retailer by key SKU/launch for a frame of reference when developing trainings
Full ownership of Education and Field budget. Create, track, and optimize monthly budgets for all field and education needs
Develop solution-oriented, forward-thinking programs to meet ever-changing business needs
Retailer Trainings
Develop training content & curriculum for retailers & field team support
Lead Sephora and Ulta corporate trainings: New Store Opening guidelines, Ulta SDE's district trainings, Salon Brand Features
Discover new ways to educate remotely via technology, including webinars, zoom, etc.
Assist with tailoring assets for International and small specialty accounts
Team Development
Lead field team providing analytics and tools needed to reach and exceed sales targets
Partner with account managers to build sales goals by door/region and field KPIs in alignment with total B&M forecast
Deliver on company objectives by driving effective launch plans and tailored differentiation strategies across channels
Plan store gratis, sampling, events, collateral and GWPs to support product priorities aligning with internal budget
Continue to evolve field team career development by strengthening structured career paths, investing in skill-building initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and internal mobility
Event Direction
Own store-level & FSC event strategy
Partner with cross-functional teams for large-scale events such as SMC, Sephoria, FLC + UBW
Develop innovative Event & Training in a Box strategies, including collateral, gratis, TOAs
Facilitate elevated events and trainings
Must Haves

7+ years of progressive experience in field sales, education, or brand management within the professional beauty, salon, or consumer packaged goods industry
3+ years in a leadership role, managing high-performing, geographically distributed field and/or education teams
Proven track record of developing and executing strategic sales plans across multiple levels (store, regional, national) with measurable results
Experience in budget management, forecasting and P&L oversight
Deep knowledge of field team KPIs and how to track, manage, and optimize performance across field sales and education roles
Strong understanding of retail dynamics
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling sales tools, promotional materials, and brand messaging
Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to lead multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Highly collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally (marketing, education, distribution)
Willingness to travel 30–50% of the time to support team development, relationship building, and field execution
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA a plus)
