NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Accountancy Practice to recruit an Accounts Senior . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to join a progressive firm where they can manage their own portfolio of clients while supporting the development of junior team members.
Reporting into the Practice Manager and Partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
Accounts Senior Responsibilities
Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
Preparing management accounts and financial reports
Reviewing work prepared by Accounts Assistants and Trainees
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
Assisting with corporation tax computations and submissions
Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Providing support and guidance on accounting and bookkeeping matters
Supporting junior team members through coaching and mentoring
Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and practice procedures
Assisting Managers and Partners with ad-hoc projects and advisory assignments
Managing multiple client deadlines and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard
Accounts Senior Experience Required
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
Previous experience working within an Accountancy Practice
Experience preparing statutory accounts for SME and owner-managed businesses
Good knowledge of UK GAAP
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively
Strong Excel and accounting software skills
Desirable:
Experience using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar cloud-based accounting software
Experience reviewing junior staff work
Exposure to management accounts and advisory services
