Account Director – Agency (Advertising & PR)
Location: New York City (Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in office)
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000
About the Company
We’re partnering with a fast‑growing integrated marketing agency with offices in New York and the UK. Following a period of significant growth, the agency is continuing to scale its U.S. team and is looking for an experienced Account Director to lead some of its most important consumer‑technology client relationships.
The agency delivers integrated campaigns across social media, digital marketing, influencer partnerships, PR, content, and brand strategy for a portfolio of globally recognised consumer brands.
The Opportunity
This is a senior client‑leadership position reporting directly to agency leadership. You’ll take ownership of key client relationships, acting as the strategic advisor and commercial lead across integrated marketing campaigns.
The ideal candidate will combine exceptional client‑management skills with strong strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a solutions‑focused mindset. You’ll play a key role in driving account growth, ensuring campaign success, and helping shape agency processes as the business continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Account Management
- Act as the senior day‑to‑day contact for major client accounts
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and become a strategic advisor to clients
- Lead client meetings, presentations, campaign reviews, and planning sessions
- Understand client business objectives and translate them into impactful marketing strategies
- Proactively identify opportunities to grow existing accounts
Integrated Campaign Strategy
- Lead the planning and execution of integrated campaigns across social, digital, influencer, and PR channels
- Collaborate with strategy, creative, performance, and activation teams to deliver best‑in‑class work
- Ensure campaigns are insight‑led, commercially effective, and aligned to client goals
- Oversee campaign performance and provide strategic recommendations for optimisation
Commercial Management
- Manage account budgets, forecasting, profitability, and resource planning
- Identify opportunities to expand services and increase revenue within existing accounts
- Support selected new‑business initiatives, pitches, and proposals when required
- Ensure high levels of client retention and account growth
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support account‑management team members
- Help implement processes and structures that improve efficiency and client delivery
- Foster collaboration across departments and contribute to a positive agency culture
- Lead by example with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 7+ years’ experience within a social, digital, PR, influencer, or integrated marketing agency
- Strong experience managing large‑scale integrated marketing accounts
- Consumer technology experience is highly desirable
- Proven success growing and retaining client relationships
- Experience leading campaigns across social media, influencer marketing, PR, and digital channels
- Strong commercial understanding including budget and revenue management
