Videographer/Visual Content Producer

Job Summary
The Visual Content Producer helps tell the UWM story by creating videos, images, photo slideshows, and other visuals that appeal to prospective and current students, parents, influencers, and additional audiences. The position works with the Division of Marketing & Communications to develop and archive channel‑appropriate content that maximizes the benefit of university in‑person events and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Videography:
develop video concepts, shoot assignments, gather model releases, edit, publish, and deliver videos following established processes.
Photography:
develop photo concepts, shoot assignments with lighting expertise, gather caption information and model releases, edit and deliver photos.
Pre‑production & Project Management:
write scripts, develop storyboards, create timelines, recruit diverse subjects, schedule shoots, prepare props or makeup artists, and maintain an accurate record of activities.
Digital Assets Management:
cull shots, enter keywords and metadata, upload files to archives, ensure model release labeling, and assist colleagues in locating assets.
Content Creation:
select and upload images, write captions for photo slideshows and banners, and produce materials for the uwm.edu domain and UWM social media accounts.
Other projects and special assignments as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in shooting and editing video.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere (or equivalent).
Demonstrated excellence in producing photos on location and in the studio.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Film, Photography, Journalism, Communications, Art, or a related field.
Minimum two years of professional videography and/or photography experience.
Strong project management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
Experience with cinema cameras, color grading, camera movement equipment (sliders, gimbals), and lighting.
Ability to develop effective marketing, advertising, and social‑media videos.
Experience in digital asset management, including culling, keyword entry, and file organization.
Familiarity with photo‑management software such as Bridge and Lightroom.
Knowledge of AP Stylebook standards for photo captions.
Capacity to handle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience working collaboratively in team environments.
Compensation
$58,000–$62,000 (final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience)
