Job Description The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting an Editorial and Administrative Specialist to provide direct support to the Director of the University of Nevada Press. The role involves editorial assistance, acquisitions support, and administrative duties for the press, as well as fiscal and HR support for the department.
Responsibilities Collaborate with the editorial, design, and production managers on manuscript cleanup, proofreading, and copyediting.
Track manuscript submissions, facilitate review outreach, and maintain acquisition records.
Handle administrative functions for the UN Press, including scheduling, budget monitoring, and policy implementation.
Provide fiscal and human‑resources administrative support to the department.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience; or Master’s degree.
Experience in editing, administration, book publishing, or a related field.
Valid driver’s license.
Flexibility for a variable work schedule and occasional travel.
Compensation & Benefits Salary is determined by the Administrative Faculty Grade schedule and is competitive and commensurate with experience. Employees are eligible for a retirement plan with a 19.25% contribution matched by the university, health insurance, and paid leave. Further benefit details are available upon request.
