Evening On-Call Specialist
Full-Time | Hourly & $2.00/hr Shift Premium

Kalamazoo LTC Pharmacy is seeking experienced Licensed Pharmacy Technicians to join our team as Evening Specialists. This role supports pharmacy operations during evening hours and serves as the primary backup for Permanent On-Call Specialists across Horizon, Pricings, and KLTC.

Position Summary
The Evening Specialist is responsible for supporting daily pharmacy workflow during evening hours through order entry, prescription processing, provider communication, and issue resolution. This position ensures continuity of care during high-volume evening operations and provides backup coverage for the Permanent On-Call Specialists when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately enter prescriptions, refills, MAPS, and patient information into pharmacy software

Manage incoming orders and prioritize urgent requests

Communicate with providers, facilities, and pharmacy staff to clarify orders

Contact provider offices for refill authorizations

Maintain accurate documentation of all orders and communications

Resolve medication-related issues and workflow discrepancies

Support evening pharmacy operations and end-of-day workflow

Communicate urgent issues to pharmacists and team members

Provide backup coverage for Permanent On-Call Specialists as needed

Assist with after-hours coverage when assigned

Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and company policies

Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Active State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required

Minimum 1 year experience on the Order Entry team or 2 years employment with Horizon Pharmacy, Pricings Pharmacy, or Kalamazoo LTC Pharmacy

Must be in good standing with attendance, performance, and reliability expectations

Schedule & Compensation

Full-time position

Monday–Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Regular hourly rate

$2.00 per hour shift premium (entire shift)

Primary backup for Permanent On-Call Specialist coverage needs

Hybrid / Future Work Option
Eligible for future at-home (remote) work transition once productivity monitoring software is approved and implemented. Remote eligibility will be determined based on performance, workflow needs, and operational approval.
