AVP, Technology E&O Underwriter
As an AVP, Technology E&O Underwriter, you'll be responsible for the management and growth of an assigned book of business as well as the acquisition of new business with a focus on Technology Middle Market insurance customers. You'll analyze customers' business information and claims history, monitor clients' activities to change the policies as risks evolve. You'll evaluate acceptability of individual risks and determine overall acceptability of risk, coverage terms and pricing to achieve company profit objectives. You'll work with agents/brokers to develop productive and profitable relationships while also ensuring compliance with company underwriting guidelines and insurance regulators. You'll utilize your sales, marketing and negotiating skills to grow the book and enhance your producer relationships.
Experience underwriting professional with strong property and casualty underwriting skills.
Manage growth, profit and loss for assigned region.
Manage agency/producer relationships for assigned region.
Handle new and renewal submissions and endorsement requests from agents/producers.
Document underwriting files to support analysis, coverage terms and pricing.
Operate in accordance with underwriting authority as delegated by manager.
In conjunction with management, lead business initiatives for territory including execution of pricing, premium retention, coverage analysis, loss control needs, claim service needs and account stewardship.
Provide clear instruction and guidance to underwriting support staff and operations staff.
Apply your sales and marketing skills and strategies to meet financial goals.
Follow established pricing, underwriting and documentation protocol as set forth by underwriting management.
Mentor and coach underwriters and underwriting support staff.
May perform other functions as assigned.
Education: Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in commercial underwriting.
Knowledge of commercial lines underwriting standards and practices along with rating/pricing methods.
Travel: 25% - overnight travel required.
Knowledge of interpreting coverage forms.
Negotiation skills.
Experience selling and/or marketing insurance products & services.
Producer management driving results and managing agency/producer relationships.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Excellent PC skills and a working knowledge of Windows environment, a valid driver's license and carry vehicle insurance coverage.

Base Salary Range: $160,000 – $190,000. Eligible to participate in an annual discretionary bonus. The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors including scope, complexity, location, skills, education, training, credentials and experience.
