Web Content Developer
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a talented individual to fill the position of Web Content Specialist. The successful candidate will develop and maintain the web presence for the district’s athletics program, ensuring accurate, engaging, and accessible content across web and social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and develop the college website; administer a uniform web structure and collaborate with district information technology staff.
Research, write, edit, post and implement content for college internet and intranet sites.
Coordinate with graphic designers and others to prepare web pages and templates for use by departments, programs and administration.
Confer with users for content and maintain currency on web technologies for possible inclusion into the website.
Ensure the college website is accessible to students with disabilities in accordance with ADA law and sections 504/508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Ensure the college website is stable, well‑designed, effective to use, and kept up to date with a consistent look and feel.
Serve as a resource for faculty, staff and administration on web planning and development.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, other district employees, and the public.
Foster an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect.
Be an integral team player, demonstrating flexibility, cooperation, and communication.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, marketing, business, or a related field.
Two years of responsible professional website design or administrator experience.
Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socio‑economic, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of principles and practices of web page and website construction and maintenance; industry‑standard web‑based programming languages; website features and capabilities; principles of graphics presentation and design in a web‑based environment; applicable federal, state, local and district laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Ability to design, develop, create and maintain websites and web‑based applications.
Experience in troubleshooting, problem solving, and maintaining operational and technical policy and procedures.
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to relate effectively with people of varied academic, cultural, and socio‑economic backgrounds.
Proficiency with modern office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Benefits
Salary: $10,270.92 – $11,238.50 monthly. Benefits include employer‑contributed medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, life insurance, 14 paid holidays plus floating holiday, vacation and sick leave accrual, personal necessity leave, educational growth incentive, longevity awards, CalPERS retirement. Position is union affiliated.
