Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Sarasota, FL, for a Collaborative Pianist. The Collaborative Pianist will work closely with opera singers, assisting in vocal rehearsals, providing piano accompaniment for coaching sessions, staging rehearsals, and performances. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of scores, collaborating with music staff to ensure artistic cohesion, and supporting various musical activities related to productions and events at Sarasota Opera.

Qualifications

Strong piano performance skills, including the ability to sight‑read and accompany professional opera singers

Experience in vocal coaching and working with opera repertoire

Excellent knowledge of operatic scores, styles, and languages (Italian, French, and German preferred)

Ability to collaborate effectively with singers, conductors, and other music staff

Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills

Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic rehearsal and performance schedule

Previous experience in an opera company or similar musical setting is highly desirable

Advanced degree in piano performance, collaborative piano, or equivalent professional experience
