Marketing And Public Relations Coordinator

900 North Michigan Shops · Chicago, IL, USA ·

Job type:
Seasonal

We're looking for a marketing professional who is equal parts strategist, producer, connector, and tastemaker.

This isn't a traditional mall marketing role. 900 North Michigan Shops sits at the intersection of luxury retail, culture, hospitality, fashion, art, and events. We're seeking someone who understands how brands create relevance, build community, and generate buzz—both online and in person.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, naturally curious, culturally aware, and exceptionally good at making things happen. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and know how to balance creativity with execution. They're as comfortable collaborating with luxury retailers and influencers as they are managing timelines, whipping up designs, and executing on digital platforms. If you're the type of person who always knows what's happening in the city, follows emerging trends before everyone else, and has a knack for turning ideas into experiences with a can‑do attitude, we'd love to meet you.

What You’ll Do
Own the Digital Presence

Lead day‑to‑day management of all digital channels including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, website, email marketing, and Google Business platforms

Develop and execute content calendars that support brand awareness, traffic, retailer promotion, and events

Create compelling content and identify opportunities to leverage trends, partnerships, and cultural moments

Track KPIs and provide insights to continuously improve performance

Oversee strategic ad buys on Meta

Manage Marketing Assets

Coordinate production of digital and print marketing materials, signage, directories, and promotional collateral

Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints

Manage marketing platforms and tools including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, MailerLite, mall music, in‑mall digital assets, and related systems

Execute Signature Events & Partnerships

Assist in the planning and execution of luxury events, fashion activations, art partnerships, influencer experiences, and seasonal programming

Coordinate vendors, creative partners, retailers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution

Help identify new partnership opportunities that align with the property's luxury mixed‑use retail & dining positioning

Build Relationships & Community

Serve as a key point of contact and collaborate with retailers, partners, influencers, agencies, and media contacts

Foster strong relationships that support marketing initiatives and elevate the property's profile

Represent the 900 North Michigan Shops brand internally and externally as someone who is approachable, humble, and equally respectful to executives, retailers, vendors, and guests alike

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of directly relevant experience in marketing, public relations, communications, events, luxury retail, hospitality, fashion, lifestyle, or a related field

Exceptional project management and organizational skills

Strong writing and communication abilities

Understanding of luxury brands, customer experience, and premium positioning

Hands on experience managing social media and digital marketing campaigns

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team

Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail

Comfortable building relationships with executives, retailers, influencers, media, and creative partners

Photography, videography, content creation, or graphic design experience is a plus

The Right Person Is

Resourceful and proactive

Connected to what's happening in Chicago

Naturally creative and culturally curious

Confident, polished, and personable

Equally comfortable attending a luxury brand event, meeting with retailers, creating content, or troubleshooting a last‑minute issue

Passionate while willing to roll up their sleeves

Willing to work on‑site five days a week at 900 North Michigan Shops

Willing to periodically work weekends and evenings, based on business needs and events

This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing. We're looking for someone who wants to help shape the future of one of Chicago's most iconic fashion‑focused destinations—not someone simply looking for their next marketing job.

Equal Opportunity Employer. The essential functions of the role include being able to communicate orally and in writing, ability to navigate the property including storage areas and stairwells, and independently lift up to 20 pounds. Financial assistance for relocation is not budgeted for this position. No phone calls or “walk ins” please.
