Role
Front End Web Designer / Developer (Jr. to Mid‑Level) responsible for end‑to‑end visual design and front‑end implementation of WordPress websites and landing pages, with ongoing maintenance, QA, and performance monitoring. The role emphasizes AI‑forward search visibility and practical SEO/AEO practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build WordPress sites and landing pages using Beaver Builder or similar page‑builder tools.

Customize themes and configure plugins; build pages with attention to UX/UI best practices and mobile‑responsive design.

Translate creative briefs and StoryBrand messaging into conversion‑focused layouts.

QA sites, document issues, and elevate to lead developers when needed.

Manage site maintenance, content updates, and enhancements across multiple client accounts.

Optimize images and media for fast load times and accessibility.

Create and maintain internal development documentation and how‑to guides.

Implement on‑page SEO and AEO practices (meta tags, headers, alt text, schema/structured data, conversational formatting).

Conduct site performance and SEO audits and act on findings (Core Web Vitals, caching, compression, code cleanup).

Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, AI coding assistants) for copy drafts and development acceleration.

Set up Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager and configure conversion tracking.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience designing and building websites; portfolio with 3+ examples showing both design and technical contributions.

Demonstrated proficiency with WordPress (themes, plugins, page builders).

Solid understanding of UX/UI, responsive design, and basic web accessibility.

Active interest and practical knowledge of AI‑driven search and AEO (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Bing Copilot).

Knowledge of structured data/schema implementation and why it matters for AI search.Comfortable using Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager for tracking and conversions.

Ability to run basic site performance audits and implement improvements.

Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and self‑starter mindset.

Ability to juggle multiple client accounts in a fast‑paced small‑agency environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with HubSpot CMS or HubSpot landing page tools.

Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.

Experience with Beaver Builder, Elementor, or other WordPress page builders.

Advanced site speed optimization experience.

Experience using AI tools to accelerate design or development workflows.

Compensation & Hours

Hourly pay: $30 to $45 per hour (depending on experience).

Part‑time (20+ hours per week). Contractor with potential to convert to W‑2 employee.

Location & Work Type

Cincinnati, OH (work location: hybrid remote in Cincinnati, OH 45215) with part‑time remote flexibility.
