Overview We are looking for a Program Supervisor to oversee one of our Residential Programs in Midtown East, Manhattan (Schafler Residence, 123 East 36th St). The Program Supervisor will manage 10‑25 direct and/or indirect reports, provide program oversight, maintain NYS regulations, and serve as an advocate for residents and liaison with families.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm (with occasional after‑hours or weekend duties as needed).
Key Responsibilities Ensure health, safety, and habilitation of residents in line with agency philosophy and department practices.
Provide a therapeutically documented level of supervision to protect the health and safety of residents.
Cover program/floor as needed.
Promote and maintain program excellence.
Develop professional, empathic relationships with family members and include them in the team process.
Lead and facilitate interdisciplinary and staff meetings; attend regional and agency supervisor meetings.
Attend planning meetings for residents and support interagency collaboration.
Create a work environment free from harassment and discrimination.
Participate in the hiring process: interview and select staff based on program needs.
Maintain direct relationships with staff, build morale, and foster professional development through regular supervision, training, and evaluations.
Utilize participatory management and maintain an open‑door policy.
Ensure oversight and compliance of role‑specific systems.
Oversee all financial systems, maintain records for residents and program expenditures, and operate within budgetary guidelines.
Maintain a safe environment for staff and residents; report hazardous conditions.
Ensure completion and maintenance of all documentation (medical records, treatment records, progress reports, data collection, incident reports, billing records, and written communication).
Report and monitor incidents and assist with investigations.
Perform responsibilities as currently exist or may change under supervision.
Qualifications BA/BS strongly preferred.
Prior supervisory experience required.
Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred.
Background supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred.
Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
Well‑developed writing skills.
Initiative and highly flexible personality.
Valid driver’s license preferred (depending on location).
Flexibility to respond to calls and programmatic needs beyond regular hours.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn/use Workforce Management software.
