Job Overview

AdventHealth is seeking a Clinical Registration Staffing Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate patient registration and insurance verification. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, located at 4200 Sun N Lake Blvd, Sebring, FL 33872. The coordinator will maintain relationships with clinical partners to enhance patient experience, organize coverage during absences, and coordinate with case management when needed.
Responsibilities

Maintain open communication with clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments.
Provide continuous coverage of the assigned registration area.
Arrange relief coverage during extended absences.
Contact insurance companies by phone, fax, online portal, and other resources to obtain and verify eligibility and benefits before scheduled appointments.
Register patients for all services, ensuring accurate demographics.
Perform Medicare compliance reviews, eligibility checks, and complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires.
Assign appropriate payer plans and update financial assessments, eligibility, and benefits.
Create accurate estimates to maximize up‑front cash collections; add collections documentation when required.
Coordinate with case management staff when pre‑authorization is not obtained for an inpatient stay.
Maintain the department invoice process, including receiving, validating, filing, and processing invoices for payment.
Document all conversations with patients and insurance representatives in the appropriate fields.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.

Ability to operate general office machines such as computer, fax machine, printer, and scanner.

Advanced understanding of insurance knowledge and benefits.

Advanced understanding of hospital electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Basic medical terminology.

English language proficiency (read, write, speak conversational).

Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and discretion with confidential patient information.

Intermediate medical terminology.

Bilingual – English/Spanish.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent.

Associate degree in business, education, health services administration, or related field.

Work Experience

1+ year of customer service experience.

1+ year of revenue cycle experience.

2+ years of direct patient access.

Licenses and Certifications

Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).

Pay Range

USD 17.01 – 27.21 per hour.
Background Screening Requirement
