Position Overview

Lumora Talent Consulting is seeking a highly motivated

2nd Shift Production Supervisor

for a leading manufacturing client. This role serves as the first-line leader responsible for supporting team members within an assigned production area. The Production Supervisor will coordinate daily operations to ensure production schedules are met while fostering a culture focused on safety, quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, and employee development.
The ideal candidate is a servant leader with experience managing teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and working within a unionized workforce.
Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction, and decision.
Create an environment that empowers employees and drives continuous improvement with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and operational efficiency.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and strengthen lean manufacturing practices.
Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and support to Team Leaders and production personnel.
Ensure Team Leaders complete required training within established timelines.
Verify that team members receive proper training in safety, quality standards, equipment operation, and 5S principles.
Maintain and monitor team member training records and training matrix compliance.
Establish and track annual goals and objectives that support key operational metrics.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations concerns and workforce issues.
Interface with union stewards regarding contract interpretation, disciplinary actions, and employee relations matters.
Coordinate day-to-day production activities to achieve scheduled production requirements.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Must Have

Minimum

1–3 years of supervisory experience

in a medium- to high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated

servant leadership

approach with a proven history of coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.
Experience ensuring employee training compliance, including safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S tracking.
Experience maintaining training documentation and employee training matrices.
Experience working in a

unionized manufacturing environment , including interfacing with union stewards on contract and disciplinary matters.
Proficiency with

Microsoft Office , including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree or coursework in

Manufacturing Engineering , Operations, or a related field.
Experience in one or more of the following manufacturing environments:

Fabrication
Metal Stamping
Machining
Welding

Basic understanding of:

Process Control
Production Scheduling
Kaizen Methodologies
Kanban Systems
Lean Manufacturing Principles

Previous professional, internship, or co-op experience in manufacturing operations.
Skills & Competencies

Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and supervise teams in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Frequent stooping, bending, and walking throughout the production facility.
Manual dexterity required for operating equipment and performing inspections.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production demands.
